Leaving Roseau
    by Emily Jerome

I didn't know I loved seeing dandelions so much
or the sound of ATV's whizzing down the road.
I didn't know that I liked how small or big my class was
and that I would never get sick of it.
I didn't know that I would ever miss the fact of never
    being able to shop
or the fact that there is usually never anything to do
    here.
I never knew that I would miss the annoying neighbors
so much their never ending high pitched barking dog.
I never knew that I would miss watching hockey so much or
    how much I loved living
    in God's country.
I never knew that I liked being able
    to go to Canady whenever

    I wanted to.
