Leaving home

  Leaving Home
  Heading for the lake
  Red Lund Tyee
  Hitched on the white Ford
  As gears are shifting
  And we are building speed
  Thoughts flowing
  Worrying about forgetting gear
  Trying to think back
  We get to the launch
  I quickly and quietly
  Rush into the boat
But all is there and in check
Ready to hit the open water
  As the waves hit
  The cold concrete
  Of the Boat launch
  We are idling out
  Into the glossy water
  With the sun rising
  On the orange horizon
