Grandma Gloria
By Karlie Hedlund
My Grandma Gloria
Greeting the family right when we walk in the door
Wearing a warm sweater and khakis
even when it's 80 degrees out
Her watch necklace hanging around her neck
that only comes off at night
Her moms ring on her wrinkly finger
She begs for my mother to give her a perm
for her weighed down curls
Finally, walking in the kitchen
smelling Swedish pancakes
seeing sugar cubes on the table
waiting for us to dip in grandpas coffee
