Grandma and Grandpa's

I didn't know that I loved the smell of bacon and eggs cooking on a wood stove,

as grandma was preparing our breakfast and unknowingly starting our alarm clock

I didn't know that I loved riding around in an old Chevy pickup with grandpa everywhere he went

heading to the hardware store with grandpa to get parts for the tractor

I would also be his supervisor to ask him how every single part on the tractor worked

and when we would get the parts put on I would always be the certified test driver

I couldn't wait until I was older so I could do more exciting things

I didn't know that I had it all already
