        | Running by Heather Fettig
I never knew I loved the hurt. The pain of pushing farther and pushing harder, The soreness and the sweat.
I never knew I loved the satisfaction. The feeling of accomplishment, The joys of winning.
I never knew I loved the rain, beating against my face. The wind fighting, going the other way. The sound of feet hitting the pavement, Splashing of puddles and coldness of snow.
I never knew I loved the smells. The fresh cut grass on the way by a house. The fresh air going through an open field. I never knew I loved to run. |
