Steven Johnson Syndrome

When my uncle was fourteen he got pneumonia

for a couple days.  Then he got really

sick and went to the hospital.

Then he had to stay at St. Mary's.

We found out he had S.J.S. which

is Steven Johnson Syndrome.  He was very

pale and had bumps all over his body and

in his throat.

When he was in teh hospital

I went with my mom and I was too scared

to stay in the same room as him cause I

was afraid I was going to get sick.

I was in the hallway crying and all the nurses

asked if i was okay and I said

yes, I'm fine.

My nana said, Maddy, what's wrong? And I said

Is Seth okay?

She said, yes, I hope so.

She said, go in there.  And  I did and

she said to Seth, tell her you will be okay and

he did and you could barely understand him

because his face was so swollen.  Then we both

started crying.

He was in the hospital for 19 days.

We couldn't wait for him to come home.

It took two weeks until he was able to walk.

On August 9th he went home.  He was so

happy to be home.
