The Wondering Dog

Traumatized, will she come back?

Wag my tail and try to tell.

Come back, comeback

Take me with.

Devastated, tears in my eyes.

Can she tell?

Does she know?

My yearning is so real

Does she know I love her so?

Watching, waiting, wondering.

Sitting in a kennel, wondering

will they come back?

I miss them so much.

Want to run after, but

I'm penned in this cage

hoping she'll come back.

Seems like hours upon days that pass.

Try to sleep, try to keep occupied.

Still feels so empty

without you here by my side.

Watching, waiting, wondering

filled with fear.

Suddenly, smells appear

sweet smell of fresh cut roses.

Maybe she's come for me.

Watching, waiting, wondering.

Tail wagging like the sound of wind blowing,

blowing gently through the willow trees.

My pride and joy is finally back.

All questions diminish, all fears vanish.

All wondering is done.
