Roseau
Although it was warm
by the fire
I trembled at the
sounds
Of thunder, and the
Flashes of lightning
It looked like war out
there
In the midnight dark
The lightning flashed
again
Twisting the sky
towards itself
Then leaving to
scatter
Remnants of the sky
back to their place
I reached up, to catch
a piece
Of the midnight sky
But I was a fool to
try
The dark piece danced
away from me
And I sat back and
cried
I must have dozed off,
for soon
I could listen to the
sounds of the birds
Smell the awakening of
this place
The morning sun hit me
in the face
As I struggled to open
my eyes
I sat up
Took a deep breath-and
yawned
Everything will be all
right.
