Pigeon River

Rushing river.

Water falls as it crashes over rocks.

The sign of freedom.

The sign of life.

Beauty.

Refreshing.

Freeing.

Bringing peace.

This place brings me all I need.

I remember this place like I was there yesterday.

I ran as fast as I could to be the first to see it.

I was mesmerized.

I saw the magic of this place.

I could not contain myself.

I got as close as I could.

I wanted to feel the mist on my face.

I closed my eyes and reached my hands into the air.

I felt the mist and the power of the free falling water.

I could smell the fresh water.

I could taste it.

I could feel it all around me.

It is a powerful place.

The memories live on in me.

I remember every detail of it.

The way the water falls.

The way the rocks separate it.

The way the plant life lives on lushly.

The way every time I think of it I am reminded of my childhood.
