On the lake the water
is all frozen
All the birds have
gone south for the winter
It is the first Saturday of Christmas vacation
There is about 10
inches of ice on the lake
It is about 40 degrees
below zero
As I sit the only man
on the lake
The wind is blowing
harder than ever
I think to myself the
time must be right
So I wiggle my line in
hope of a bite
What is this? I feel a
tug tug on the line
So I pull up the rod it is fighting like a monster
So I pull with all my
might
At the last couple of feet of line and I see the fish
By God it is the size
of a whale
He wouldn't even fit
in the pail.
This is the truth not
a tale.
