Another Long Day

Thursday morning, getting ready for school,

I knew I didn't have to work,

I couldn't wait to get done with school.

I was in class thinking of what to do after,

Went to my locker after class and saw I missed a call

Unknown caller, wondering who it was

They left a voicemail, I called them back,

It was Jonah, asking if I could work for him.

He said he would work Sunday, so I could sleep in.

I agreed, walked into Hardee's,

Sat in the office, waiting for 9:00 p.m. to come,

Counted one-till and mopped the floor,

10:00 p.m. came around, finally we're closed.

I counted the last two tills, locking them in the safe.

Walked around the restaurant, making sure I was done.

Set the alarm and locked the doors.

Drove home, sat in my room and said

I hope tomorrow isn't another long day.
