Abandonment
The mere word seeming
far from your vocabulary
The more you think
that you don't care
The more it is tearing
your last hope away
With each minute that
goes by you feel even more forgotten
You try countless
things to get it off your mind
Yet when no one
remembers that you exist, what does it matter?
Your own needs seem
irrelevant, the needs of tomorrow...
Lost on the hope that
someone would make an effort to recognize
That your beating
heart is even comparable to theirs
You're longing to
stare into the eyes of someone who knows your soul,
and shares your pain
You want to feel the
presence of anyone who would care as much to give you even a thought
Yet there is no way to
do such without feeling vulnerable and pitied
So you remain isolated, with nothing but the desires of your soul, and your pain
with which only you
can begin to understand
And you worry yourself
into a heart-wrenching, nauseated sleep
While your hope for
tomorrow remains the same as it was today:
That your life will
not be forgotten or even worse; meaningless.
