One Day

One day we went swimming

my mom said that I swim

like a great gray dolphin.

I had not noticed that I did.  

Then mom told us to get in the car,

time to go home.  When we were in the car,

the sun was sitting in my lap

while my mom was driving the car.  

That was my big secret

because nobody noticed

that I had the sun in my lap,

but I did.
